False Creek is the water jewel of Vancouver. It separates downtown from the rest of the City, and the waterway connects a number of civic treasures: At the mouth, Stanley Park is on the north and Vanier Park and the Maritime Museum is on the south. At its middle, between the Burrard and Granville bridges, Granville Island's marketplace is on the south, and the Vancouver Aquatic Centre is on the north. Further in, is BC Place, The Coliseum and Science World, all on land that used to be for Expo '86.
